- The five open hotels on Shura Island certified to the highest global standard for sustainable hospitality design and construction
Riyadh, 9 July 2026: Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind the regenerative tourism destinations The Red Sea and AMAALA, has announced that all five operational hotels on Shura Island have achieved LEED Platinum certification under the LEED v4 BD+C Hospitality rating system.
This milestone brings the total number of LEED Platinum certified hotels and resorts at The Red Sea to 10, offering 1,207 keys across a certified area of 236,405 sqm. The destination will unveil six additional resorts on Shura Island, which are all on track to achieve LEED certification later this year.
All five LEED Platinum-certified resorts—The Red Sea EDITION, InterContinental The Red Sea Resort , SLS The Red Sea , Four Seasons Resorts and Residences Red Sea at Shura Island,and Miraval The Red Sea—meet the highest global standards for sustainable design, construction, and operations, with all assets powered entirely by renewable energy. Shura Island integrates energy-efficient architecture, low-impact materials, and high-performance building systems.
