The Red Sea Landscape Nursery
At over 1.8 million square meters, Botanica is the largest landscape nursery in the region. It is part of Red Sea Global’s planet-first approach, seeking to enrich the natural environment around us and set new standards for sustainable development.
Operational since 2020, Botanica has grown and supplied more than 7 million plants to landscape RSG’s destinations, aiming to deliver 30 million plants by 2030. Botanica also provides immersive educational experiences for guests at The Red Sea, AMAALA, and beyond.
The nursery features diverse local plants, flowers, and other vegetation. Any new species introduced is carefully planned and follows comprehensive evaluations to guarantee harmonious integration with the existing flora and fauna.

We are proud to announce the launch of its new brand, Botanica: the new name for The Red Sea Landscape Nursery. Botanica is dedicated to sustainable greenery across RSG’s destinations, while also providing exceptional, nature-based experiences to guests.

We have partnered with ACWA Power, the world’s largest private water desalination company and leader in energy transition, to develop more than 20 acres (83,367m2) of new wetlands that will irrigate our landscape nursery.
The pilot program will see the installation of 11,000 paving slabs made from Partanna’s carbon negative concrete and includes scope for future pilots including within RSG’s coral reef restoration schemes.
In our latest episode with Warner Bros. Discovery, we spotlight local Saudis who are seeding a sustainable future and working towards our goal to grow 30 million plants by 2030.
The plants grown in the nursery are predominantly native species that are fully adapted to the climate and conditions around the destination, both coastal and inland. Additional desert-dwelling species may be included, after ensuring that any imported species will co-exist comfortably with the local flora and fauna.
The nursery provides two to three growing seasons per year, during which trees, shrubs, and plants are propagated, matured, and acclimatized. Turfgrass is also grown for the destination’s championship golf course, hotels, and residential properties.
The destination’s treatment plant is supplementing irrigation water for the Landscape Nursery, while a composting unit turns organic-rich waste into compost to be used for the nursery. Six water tanks also support the nursery, each with a capacity of 18,000m3.
Four shade houses have also been constructed. Two provide 70% shading and the other two provide 40%, with each around 31,320m2.
“Botanica ensures our destinations have landscapes that reflect the natural heritage of the Red Sea.”
