- Key marina licenses granted by Saudi Red Sea Authority pave the way for operations.
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 1 October 2026: Red Sea Global (RSG), the regenerative tourism developer, is establishing a new Red Sea yachting corridor following the final licensing for AMAALA Marina and Shura Marina, marking the initiation of a new hub for sailing and yachting in the Red Sea.
Eng. Mohammed Bukhari, Vice President of Coastal Tourism Operations at Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA), handed over the licenses to Mr. Raed Albasseet, Group Chief Environment and Sustainability Officer at RSG, in Riyadh.
AMAALA and Shura Marinas are designed to meet the expectations of the world’s most sophisticated travelers. From superyacht berthing to seamless marine services, we are disrupting the traditional global yachting circuit by introducing a new seasonal home for the world’s most discerning yacht owners and operators.
Located on Saudi Arabia’s temperate northwestern coast, the marinas offer a viable year-round yachting base. Positioned just 2,000 nautical miles from Monaco, the two marinas offer yacht owners and captains a closer alternative to the traditional winter migration routes from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean or Indian Ocean.
AMAALA Marina features 119 berths, specializing in transient and superyacht berthing, while nearby Shura Marina offers 159 berths aimed at residential and recreational boaters. Both Marinas can accommodate superyachts of up to 120 meters, as well as provide comprehensive marine services, including fuelling, provisioning, maintenance and concierge services.
The SRSA licenses ensure the highest standards of marina operations and environmental protection, including measures to protect the Red Sea’s biodiversity and coral reef ecosystems. They reflect RSG’s commitment to sustainable coastal development and demonstrate how sailing, luxury tourism and marine conservation can successfully coexist.
“Through close collaboration with Red Sea Global, we are ensuring that AMAALA Marina and Shura Marina align with best-in-class standards, supporting the sustainable growth of Saudi Arabia’s coastal tourism sector and enhancing its global competitiveness.”
said Eng. Mohammed Bukhari.
AMAALA Marina is part of the AMAALA destination, while Shura Marina serves The Red Sea destination. Together, Red Sea Global now has 19 resorts open across its destinations: 11 at The Red Sea, seven at AMAALA, and Thuwal Private Retreat. A further eight resorts scheduled to open in the coming months.
RSG recently announced the opening of AMAALA Yacht Club, which is now welcoming founding members and visiting yachts to moor and explore the destination. It also recently launched Yachting Network, a new Marina & Yacht Club operator that brings together RSG’s marine services under a single management company. It provides yacht owners, charter guests, captains and crew with a seamless way to explore the Red Sea.
