Riyadh, 6 Feb 2025 - Red Sea Global (RSG) the visionary developer behind the world's most ambitious regenerative tourism destinations, AMAALA and The Red Sea, is celebrating its pioneering journey in education since the developer began its educational journey in 2019, with an ambition to contribute to the development of the next generation of leaders in the tourism sector.
Through its broad range of 16 programs established to date, RSG offers educational, vocational and on-the-job training opportunities to promising Saudi talent. The company provides career pathways that align with its vision of developing world-class destinations, while also providing employment opportunities for local talent across more than 20 entities within RSG’s destinations.
A total of 1,995 students have benefitted from these programs, with RSG’s initiatives extending into a diverse range of specialized fields that represent the diversity of the tourism sector, such as luxury hospitality, airport services, tourism security, health and wellness tourism, and many other areas within the tourism sector.
As part of its ambitious strategy to build a bright future for local talent and achieve tangible milestones through the participation and empowerment of the nation’s youth, Red Sea International Airport (RSI), which opened in 2023 and has a roster of domestic and international flights, has employed 122 young Saudis, many of whom have completed educational and training plans delivered by RSG.
In February 2024, RSG revealed the establishment of The Red Sea National Academy (TRSNA) on the sidelines of the inaugural Human Capability Initiative hosted in Riyadh. TRSNA will implement joint programs between RSG, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and Colleges of Excellence to qualify trainees with technical specializations that align with the demands of the labor market in the region. The academy is set to equip local talent with the necessary skills to bolster the tourism sector in the Kingdom and will welcome 10,000 trainees by 2030.
The Red Sea welcomed its first guests in 2023. It now has five hotels open, as well as the Red Sea International Airport (RSI). Situated within three hours' flying time of 250 million people and eight hours' flying time for 85% of the world’s population, RSI is the gateway to the destination for guests and residents alike, whether based in the Kingdom or further afield. It has been receiving a regular schedule of domestic flights since September 2023 and international flights began in April 2024, with a twice-weekly route between The Red Sea and Dubai International.
RSG is on track to compete all 16 hotels that make up Phase One of The Red Sea in 2025. The first phase of AMAALA is set to welcome its first guests later this year. By the end of 2025, RSG will have opened 25 resorts and delivered close to 450 luxury residences.
