Riyadh, 25 January 2024: Red Sea Global (RSG), the multi-project developer behind regenerative tourism destinations The Red Sea and Amaala,, has announced the introduction of an innovative beach cleaning robot to keep its pristine beaches free of rubbish.
The beach cleaning robot is designed to sift and collect plastic waste and debris, and can identify items as small as 1cm2. The remote-controlled, state-of-the-art robot is fully electric and ensures thorough cleaning results without causing harm to the environment. The robot is also designed to be highly maneuverable, allowing it to easily navigate between furniture and other obstacles that are typically challenging for similar robots in the market. It can clean an impressive 3,000 m2 in just one hour.
The Beach Cleaning Robot will initially be deployed at Red Sea's exquisite destination, maintaining the pristine landscape of its destination and world class hotels. This demonstrates RSG's commitment to preserving the beauty of the beaches for its visitors and showcases the harmonious existence of luxury travel experiences and sustainable practices.
In 2023, The Red Sea welcomed its first guests, with two of its hotels now open. The Red Sea International Airport has been receiving a regular schedule of flights since September 2023. Upon completion in 2030, The Red Sea destination will comprise 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential properties across 22 islands and six inland sites. The destination will also include luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment and leisure facilities.
