Red Sea International Airport(RSI) received Level 1 Airport Carbon Accreditation certificate, organized by Airports Council International.
In 2025, RSI joined the Airport Carbon Accreditation at Level 1and by entering the program, the airport commits to a full assessment of its carbon emissions and to establishing the foundation for effective and measurable reductions.
RSI is already implementing a wide range of practices that align with its long-term sustainable ambitions. For example, energy efficiency measures are being rolled out across its facilities, while 760,000 photovoltaic panels have been installed at its on-site solar farm, enabling the airport to run entirely on renewable electricity. Electric vehicles are also being deployed to reduce emissions from ground operations, and the airport has begun working closely with partners to drive wider decarbonization, including its recent decision to offer Sustainable Aviation Fuel to airlines.
