Four RSG assets were awarded prestigious LEED recognition. This includes Red Sea International Airport (RSI) becoming the first airport in Saudi Arabia, and only the fifth worldwide, to achieve LEED Platinum certification. Turtle Bay’s International School (TBIS) as well as its villas and townhouses at Coastal Village Residences received the LEED Platinum certification as well, earning the highest level of recognition from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI).
TBIS achieved an outstanding 92 points, setting a new global benchmark as the highest-scoring project ever under the LEED v4 BD+C: Schools rating system. With this remarkable achievement, TBIS becomes the first school in Saudi Arabia and only the 15th school worldwide to attain LEED v4 Platinum certification - surpassing even the previous record holder, Dunbar High School in Washington, D.C., which achieved 91 points under the earlier LEED v3 system.
For Turtle Bay villas and townhouses to earn the highest level of certification attainable under the LEED Homes rating system, cements our position as the owner of the largest portfolio of LEED Homes certified buildings in Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, RSG’s Central Distribution Center (CDC) earned LEED Gold certification, becoming one of the most sustainable warehouse facilities in the region. Finally, AMAALA Triple Bay and Staff Village masterplans achieved LEED Platinum for Communities.
